Varun Chakraborty remains on the sidelines. After missing the previous match of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026) against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), the team management again left him out of the line-up.
At the time of the toss, KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane revealed that Varun Chakravarthy is not part of their plans for tonight’s match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

After the toss, Rahane said that the spinner is still recovering from the injury sustained while taking a catch to dismiss Sunrisers Hyderabad batsman Abhishek Sharma.

“Just one change – Sunil comes in for Blessing, Varun is still recovering from his hand injury. When he (Green) is allowed to bowl, we will look at him, the combinations will get better, so Rovman Powell plays, we have an extra bowler when Cam Green bowls,” KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane said at the toss.
