Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 is underway, and some bad news is coming from the Peshawar Zalmi camp as Naheed Rana and Shoriful Islam will be leaving Peshawar Zalmi for their national team commitments. He is set to leave the franchise on April 13 for national duty.

Bangladesh is set to host New Zealand for a three-match ODI series and a T20I series. The first two ODI matches of the ODI series will be played in Dhaka on 17 and 20 April, followed by the third ODI in Chattogram on 23 April. The T20 series will start on April 27 and end on May 2.

    Nahid Rana shines in PSL

Nahid Rana has been an important member of the Peshawar Zalmi team, and he was in great form in PSL 2026, taking three wickets in two matches. In the last game, the Bangladesh pacer put in a brilliant bowling display, taking 3 wickets for just 7 runs for Peshawar Zalmi. Karachi Kings were out for 87 runs.

Nahid Rana bowled the most economical spell by any foreign bowler in PSL history. This is also the best economy of this season. While fellow Bangladeshi Tej Shoriful Islam took one wicket for 23 runs. Shorifull struck quickly and dismissed David Warner for a golden duck.

Babar Azam made a new record

After the power play, Nahid Rana caused further damage with fast bowling. Rana’s performance put him in the record books and the match set many milestones. His teammate Shoriful has taken only one wicket in three matches. However, Nahid Rana has been more influential than his other Bangladeshi teammate Shorifull.

Talking about the match, Zalmi scored 247/3 runs in 20 overs with the help of Kusal Mendis’ brilliant century. The Sri Lankan batsman scored 109 runs off 52 balls and shared a 191-run partnership with captain Babar Azam, which became the highest partnership for any wicket for Peshawar.

Babar also scored 87 runs and reached 12,000 T20 runs in 338 innings, surpassing Chris Gayle as the fastest. Two fast bowlers, Naheed and Shoriful, will return for Zalmi ahead of the playoff matches.

Bangladesh changed the timing of its match

Bangladesh Cricket has recently won the ODI series against Pakistan and now they will face the Kiwi team. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has changed the timing of the upcoming international matches involving Bangladesh men’s and women’s teams. The decision is part of the Bangladesh government’s plan to boost energy-saving strategy amid the global fuel crisis.

The matches were initially scheduled as day-night matches; All three ODI matches between Bangladesh and New Zealand men’s teams have been rescheduled to earlier start times. The matches in Dhaka and Chattogram will start at 11:00 am local time instead of evening.

The decision ensures that the games end by sunset, which is around 6:30 pm. This will restrict the use of floodlights. According to the board, this change is estimated to save about four hours of electricity per match.
