Another twist has emerged regarding a Sri Lankan cricketer amid the Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026). A few days ago it was reported that Sri Lankan star Nuwan Thushara had dragged Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) to court as he was finding it difficult to get a no objection certificate from the board to participate in foreign franchise leagues including the IPL.
On Friday afternoon, the newswire reported that the fast bowler had issued an apology letter to the board, stating that he had no intention of taking the board to court.

According to the media report, “In an email addressed to Sri Lanka Cricket CEO Ashley de Silva, with copies to President Shammi Silva and another official, Thushara said it was never his intention to take the cricket board to court or put the organization in a difficult position.”

Nuwan Thushara said that his only aim was to claim justice as he felt unfairness and injustice in the case. He clearly said in the letter that he has no desire to go against the board in any way.
The Sri Lankan fast bowler wrote in his letter, “My sole objective during this process is to seek fairness and justice, as I truly feel that I have been treated unfairly in this matter. The steps I initially considered were motivated by a desire to hear and appropriately address my concerns rather than create conflict or bring disrepute to the organization.”
