James McAvoy, the star face of several franchises, isn’t bothered by wrinkles considering Hollywood’s fears of aging.
Looking into the looks department, the X-Men star shared that he’s not losing sleep over it because he’s “doing fine”.
When asked about his thoughts on aging, the actor told the host on The Romesh Ranganathan Show, “Relatively not.”
“I think in a completely normal way, the way everyone thinks. As an actor, I think I’m doing OK. I think I’m not a bad-looking guy.”
McAvoy believes that his looks are not a criteria for getting roles. “I don’t think I get roles because, like, ‘Oh, he’s good looking.'”
Therefore, growing old is a phase of life that one allows to grow. “So much of the aging and stuff, and getting a little bald in the back and all that, it’s like I’m allowed to have it.”
But not everyone is allowing aging to take its course and opt for cosmetic enhancements.
Responding to this, McEvoy says that trying to look young through artificial means can be counterproductive.
“There are a lot of people who are starting to look a little weird. And that’s the thing. It’s like, you’re not looking younger. You’re just looking more weird.”
McAvoy’s comments highlight the actor’s approach to strengthening his craft over tight skin in the industry.
