Apple has released the second iOS 26.5 beta for developers. iOS 26.5 beta 2 follows two versions of the first beta. The second version became the first iOS 26.5 public beta.
iOS 26.5 features and changes
Although there are no Gemini-powered AI features, the update does include some changes.
The most discoverable new feature in iOS 26.5 is Maps. The new “Suggested Places” feature is now part of Search in Apple Maps.
Apple also continues to test end-to-end encryption for RCS in beta.
Specifically in Europe, Apple is testing the ability to deliver Live Activities to third-party peripherals.
iOS may also support monthly payments for an annual subscription at a discounted rate with a 26.5 commitment.
