Marco Rossi scored with just 9.5 seconds remaining to give the Vancouver Canucks a 4–3 win over the Anaheim Ducks, delaying Anaheim’s chance to secure a playoff berth.
According to TSN, Rossi hit a one-timer from the right circle and beat goaltender Lucas Dostal in the final moments to seal the win.
The Ducks have 90 points and can still make the playoffs with a win in their next game.
Vancouver, despite being at the bottom of the NHL standings with 56 points, remained steady throughout the game.
Curtis Douglas, Jake DeBrusk and Brock Boeser each scored a goal for the Canucks, while goaltender Nikita Tolopilo made 24 saves.
Anaheim was led by Cutter Gauthier, who reached a career-high 40 goals twice this season.
The 22-year-old player has become the fourth player in franchise history to achieve this feat. Leo Carlsen also found the net.
The Ducks fought back in the third period to tie the game 3–3 after goals by Gauthier and Carlson. However, Rossi’s late strike ensured Canxgefot’s victory.
