Prince William and Kate Middleton don’t come from a place of privilege, an expert says.
The Prince and Princess of Wales, who have been embarrassed by Uncle Andrew’s friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, believe in keeping their heads down while working hard for the monarchy.
Speaking about Kate, royal expert Russell Myers tells Marie Claire: “She has worked hard behind the scenes to get to know the institution and how much it means to the public.”
“It didn’t happen overnight, but after more than a decade of studying the complex nature of where the monarchy is and the direction both William and she want to take it in the future.”
“A common issue that plagues those who have exposed themselves to misconduct comes with a heightened sense of privilege and entitlement,” the biographer tells Marie Claire. “There’s a reason we don’t see it with William and Catherine, or even hear claims of such behavior, because there’s no such thing.”
He adds: “There is much to be said about the quiet manner in which they work, carrying out their public duties and private lives in a manner that is more accountable not only to those around them but also to those they serve.”
