For Britney Spears, seeking treatment at a facility right after her DUI arrest felt like the “best” step to move forward.
The 44-year-old singer, who has been to rehab or treatment facilities several times in the past, voluntarily checked herself into rehab on Sunday, her rep confirmed. E! news.
A source told People Following her arrest in March on drunken driving charges, “people close to Britney encouraged her to seek treatment.”
“Britney understands the seriousness of her situation,” the insider claimed, “and (she) felt this was the best step to move forward.”
“She is now seeking treatment,” Tatler added.
In March a spokesperson said in a statement that his arrest was an “unfortunate incident” and “completely inexcusable”.
The statement continued, “Britney will do the right thing and follow the law, and hopefully this can be the first step towards a long-overdue change in Britney’s life. Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.”
“Her boys are going to spend time with her. Her loved ones are going to come up with an urgent plan to set her up for success,” the rep said at the time.
