During his recent visit to Russia, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor made a strange request.
The former prince, now living in exile, appeared to be chasing his hat when he arrived in Moscow in 2004.
Expert Robert Jobson quoted a diplomat recounting the bizarre experience: “A British diplomat in Moscow will remember the Duke’s business-related visit, during which his top priority seemed to be the acquisition of a fur hat.”
The author adds: “Late in the evening a select few of those items were delivered to his hotel – just imagine, by some very handsome shop assistants.”
This comes as Andrew is temporarily living at Wood Farm in Sandringham as his last home, Marsh Farm, is under renovation.
Royal author Robert Jobson told The Sun’s royal exclusive on YouTube: “It’s ruined. I mean, this poor place used to look quite nice. Now with these Peaky Blinders caravans piled up on the side of it, it’s just terrible.”
He added: “It was quite a nice country house. Now it’s horrible. You know, the way it’s happening, you know, I don’t know. I think when he finally, if he ever comes in, I mean, you know, I find it absolutely crazy what’s happening.”
