I’ll be honest, I’ve never been a big fan of this foundation. I love a glowy, dewy, natural-looking finish, and although I’ve tried some of the best glowy foundations on the market, I still find them a little Very Heavy. That being said, this makeup product definitely has its purpose, and after starting the year with frequent breakouts, I actually found myself reaching for foundation more than ever, thanks to the higher coverage.

Typically, you’ll find me wearing a tinted moisturizer or skin tint on the daily basis, but thanks to the breakouts I just mentioned, I still don’t feel confident switching up my foundation this spring. Well, that was the case until I tried the trending skin tint that was on my TikTok FYP.

introduction of Hourglass Veil Hydrating Skin Tint. A lightweight, hydrating formula that blurs imperfections and In fact Brightens the skin, this has quickly become my favorite base product.

    Best selection for you

    Formula

Like most skin tints, this product feels incredibly light on the skin. In fact, I would go so far as to say it feels like I’m wearing nothing at all. This formula is designed to boost skin’s moisture levels, with ingredients like Hyaluronic acid, plant-based squalane and meadowfoam seed oil. It glides on like butter, creating the effect of a second skin with a naturally luminous finish. Not only that, but it somehow creates a filter-like, blurring effect that smooths out blemishes and uneven texture, which is no mean feat for a product like this. Skin colors are usually not correct Great Coverage, but this product really is the best of both worlds. Of course, if you have any major blemishes or dark circles on your face and you want to hide them, I would recommend using concealer on top of that, but this skin tone makes me feel so confident that I can skip concealer altogether.

    application

The ingredients alone make it a dream to apply, but there are definitely a few ways to get the most out of the product. If you want a more natural, “my skin but better” finish, I would recommend applying a small amount and blending with your fingers. However, for days when I want to amp up the coverage a bit, I like to use my favorite Foundation brush. My top tip would be to start small, as I’ve found that applying too much product can lead to a bit of dryness throughout the day (but certainly nothing compared to a heavy foundation).

I chose shade 4, a blonde shade with slightly cool undertones. There are 18 shades offered with a range of undertones to suit your skin, but I’d love to see a wider range from the brand in the future, as more and more skin tints are offering an impressive range of shades these days.

I don’t say this lightly, but this is the best my skin has looked all year, and I’m putting it down to the Hourglass Veil Hydrating Skin Tint. Whenever I wear it, I feel as if there is a real filter on my face that blurs any imperfections and at the same time allows my natural skin to shine through. Not only am I obsessed with the finish, but I also can’t get over how lightweight it feels on the skin. I hate that moment at the end of the day when your foundation feels heavy, and you’re desperate to go home, take your Cleanser and take off all your makeup, but I have yet to experience that with this product. I’m so happy this spring to finally find something that enables me to ditch foundation completely, and I know this skin tint will be a staple for glowing makeup looks throughout the summer, too.
