Britney Spears’ sons are taking care of their mother.
According to a recent report by People, The 44-year-old pop singer’s sons, Jaden James and Sean Preston, were “a big role” in convincing their mom to get treatment at a facility following her recent DUI arrest.
A source told the outlet, “She was very upset and shaken after her arrest. And she’s scared of going to jail. It took her several weeks to realize that going to rehab was the best option.”
“His team has been pushing for treatment since his arrest,” the insider said.
“The people around him care about him very much and are constantly trying to support him, but it can be difficult. There are a lot of worries since the arrest.”
Additionally, Tatler shared that Spears’ two sons, whom she shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline, want their popstar mom to stay “healthy.”
Bird chirped, “His sons had a big role in his rehabilitation. They were frank with him. They just wanted him to be healthy.”
On April 12, Spears’ spokesperson confirmed that she had voluntarily checked herself into rehab after being arrested in California for drunken driving in March.
She spent a night in custody and was released the next morning.
His representative said in a statement at the time that the “unfortunate incident” was “completely inexcusable”.
The spokesperson added, “Britney will do the right thing and follow the law, and hopefully this can be the first step towards a long-overdue change in Britney’s life. Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.”
