Katy Perry shared a message for her fans shortly after denying sexual assault allegations made by Ruby Rose.
On April 14, Perry posted a simple message on Instagram Stories, writing “I love you” along with an image of the song By the Grace of God from her 2013 album Prism.
The emotional track features lyrics about resilience and moving forward after a difficult experience, such as “Now I have to rise up / Let the universe deceive you / Yes the truth will set you free.”
It comes just a day after Rose made allegations on social media, claiming Perry assaulted her at a nightclub in Australia nearly 20 years ago.
Rose claimed that Perry “saw me ‘resting’ on her best friend’s lap and ducked down to avoid her, pulled her underwear aside and rubbed her disgusting vagina on my face until my eyes popped open and I vomited on her.”
Notably, a representative for Katy Perry denied the claims in a statement saying: “The allegations being circulated on social media about Katy Perry by Ruby Rose are not only patently false, they are dangerous, reckless lies.”
It further reads, “Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have been repeatedly denied by those named.”
However, following the backlash, Rose shared another message with her followers, saying she is now focused on healing and moving on.
He also noted that he has finalized police reports related to past incidents, which may limit his ability to discuss details publicly in the future.
“This means I am no longer able to comment, repost, or talk publicly about any of those cases or the individuals involved,” Rose wrote.
She said, “It feels like I’m ignoring everything from the supportive messages to other people’s experiences, but I’m not. This is a standard request from the police and in many ways, quite a relief. I can now begin the healing process and move forward temporarily. I love you all so much.”
