The Lions Gate Bridge has reopened in both directions after being completely closed on Monday evening following a police incident.
According to 1130 Newsradio, the bridge was closed around 7:55 p.m. as officers responded to the situation.
“Currently, the VPD is assisting West Vancouver with an incident on the bridge,” Const. Megan Louis told 1130 Newsradio.
The Vancouver Police Department said it was supporting West Vancouver police during the response.
Eyewitnesses reported that several police vehicles were seen heading towards the bridge, while a helicopter was also seen hovering over the area.
Traffic data from DriveBC showed that the bridge reopened shortly before 8:50 p.m., and closed about an hour later.
Authorities have not yet released further details about the nature of the incident.
