Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have paid emotional tribute to the late Princess Diana and King Charles as they begin their visit to Australia.
Soon after arriving in Melbourne, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne, where they were warmly welcomed. People Magazine.
The report revealed that Harry and Meghan spent time talking and posing for photos with children and parents.
The couple also gave words of encouragement to the young patients. And when asked what he’s looking forward to most, Harry said, “Everything.”
Speaking to the publication, a 12-year-old patient said, “I gave Harry flowers and he said ‘Thank you’ and he told me ‘Stay brave.'”
“It excited me a lot and I’ll keep thinking about it,” he said.
Six-week-old Millie, who was discharged just three days earlier, returned to the hospital for a checkup and was able to meet Harry and Meghan.
“One day, I will be able to tell her that she met the prince,” her mother said.
Sharing her take on Harry and Meghan’s non-royal visit, Professor Christine Kilpatrick AO, who serves as board chair of The Royal Children’s Hospital, said: “Look around and you can see the rush of people, the smiles on their faces and what it means to them.”
He added, “Everyone is absolutely happy.” “You can’t measure the boost in morale, but it’s obvious.”
“Many of these patients have been here for a long time and come to the hospital often, this kind of happiness is wonderful for them.”
Harry and Meghan’s first stop also has historical significance because decades earlier, Princess Diana and then-Prince Charles visited the same children’s hospital during their 1985 tour of Australia.
