Royal insiders have revealed King Charles, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s true feelings on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s trip to Australia.
He last visited Australia while working at the royals in 2018, announcing Meghan’s first pregnancy just hours after arriving in Sydney.
The royal couple have received a mixed reception in Australia, where Harry’s father King Charles is head of state, although a large minority supports becoming a republic.
Hundreds of children and parents welcomed Meghan and Harry to a children’s hospital in Melbourne on Tuesday, who said their presence had brought hope to young patients there.
But many other Australians have questioned his reasons for visiting the country.
“This is no royal visit, but a series of wild rants by a couple far removed from reality,” in an opinion article Sydney Morning Herald Said before the trip.
His trip is being privately funded, although local media reported that some police costs associated with the trip would be paid for by Australian taxpayers, sparking a protest petition signed by over 45,000 people.
Meanwhile, royal expert Rob Shuter has shared the palace’s reaction to Meghan and Harry’s visit to Australia.
In his substack, the expert said “And back to the palace? Silence”.
Citing insiders, Robb says: “They’re not concerned at all. If anything, they think it’s looking a bit sloppy – as if it’s being run by amateurs.”
Which could be the biggest sign.
“If it had been a threat, the palace would have reacted,” the close confidant told the expert.
