Chanel’s 25 Handbag campaign is unlike anything the house has done before. House ambassador Margot Robbie leads the effort, shot by photographer Craig McDean in a series of images that are funny, stylish, and totally unexpected.
Taking creative cues from a beloved pop culture moment, director Michel Gondry built the campaign around the 25th anniversary of Kylie Minogue’s “Come Into My World” video, in which Minogue herself appeared as a surprise guest.

The visual concept places two Robies in every frame, with each version having the same style but reacting differently to the other. The results are really fascinating. The two Margots are turning heads in black midi dresses. The two Margots in worn-out tweed jackets and CC-embroidered jeans were arguing over who wore it better.

The two Margots share a completely deadpan exchange in white cardigans with black lace trim. Throughout it all, the Chanel 25 Mini comes in a variety of colors, including burnt orange, blush pink, ecru, burgundy, and white, each color sitting in contrast to the outfits as if it was always meant to be there.

The quilted leather silhouette with its signature interlaced chain has found its ideal showcase. Robbie presents the campaign with a sense of lightness and chic that makes every look that much more impressive.
