Shocking new information has emerged about the home invader who terrorized a mother and daughter in a viral doorbell video.
jason Thomas Nichols, 30, is accused of breaking into a California home and threatening to kill a pregnant mother and her 5-year-old son.
In shocking footage, a man tries to kick down the front door of a Bay Area home while yelling to be let in.
I am making my first appearance court On Wednesday, Nichols was wearing a striped prison jumpsuit and was shackled around his waist.
He reportedly smiled and rolled his eyes during some of the proceedings, while also thanking reporters for taking his photo.
Nichols was charged with four felonies, including theft, assault with a deadly weapon, vandalism and criminal threatening.
A brave witness also came forward with new allegations about an encounter with Nichols and a child two days before the home invasion.
Nichols now faces a fifth charge of harassing or molesting a child under 18.

The conversation begins innocently enough, when a man wearing a long black coat, flip flops, and glasses asks the owner to “please” open the door.
The man, later identified by authorities as 30-year-old Jason Nichols, states: “I just wanted to make sure everything was OK. I just thought I’d check something out.”
At that time a woman was inside the house with her child but she was so scared that she did not open the door.
Her husband, who is not home, tries to convince Nichols to leave via the doorcam microphone.
The owner replies: “I don’t know what you want man, get out of my house.”
This response enrages Nicholas, who kicks the front door and begins shouting angrily.
“Open this door. Man, where is your daughter? Who is there with you. Open this door or I will break it down. Is everyone okay in this house?” He gets angry.
The homeowner can be heard pleading with him to leave.
Nichols then asks in a threatening tone: “Open the door. This is my neighborhood. Now… or I’ll kill you. Do you understand me?”
He then breaks the doorbell by aggressively banging on the door.
During the ordeal, Nicholas identifies himself as Harry Dresden from the popular Jim Butcher Dresden File novels about a private investigator/magician.
Nichols then allegedly found his way inside the house by slipping through a sliding glass door.
Another security camera inside the house captured Nichols wandering around the house, opening cupboards and doors, searching for his wife and child.
The homeowner ran back to his house armed with a shovel to save his wife and child.
Police said she and Nichols allegedly fought, causing injuries to each other’s heads.
Fairfield police arrived minutes later and found Nichols outside.
He was taken to a nearby hospital before being booked into jail on several serious charges related to the blatant sabotage attempt.
