Prince Harry is mulling over his fears before welcoming fatherhood.
The Duke of Sussex, who is father to Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet with wife Meghan Markle, says he had a lot to think about before entering a new phase in his life.
Speaking at Whitton Oval, home of AFL club Western Bulldogs, Harry said: “I see parenting evolving over time. Our children are our upgrades.
“It goes without saying that I edified my father or my children edified me, but the children we raise in today’s world need to be edified.”
Harry said: “Obviously from a medical perspective, you want to be the best version of yourself for your children.
“And I knew I had things from the past that I needed to deal with, and so I basically set myself to purge myself of the past.”
He said: “This is the most important and transformational role anyone can ever play.
“The role, gives you purpose. Those days, weeks after birth are a real struggle.
“If I was stressed, as soon as I held Archie… he would notice it quicker than I would.”
He said: “Never let yourself reach the point where you are of no use to anyone.”
