A killer husband who murdered his wife and started a new family under a fake name has been caught after a 30-year manhunt.
Marcos Campinha Panisa stabbed his ex-wife 72 times and was sentenced to 20 years in prison before fleeing the country and settling in Paraguay.
On April 15, police finally captured and arrested the fugitive killer in San Lorenzo, Paraguay.
Panisa was on the international wanted list and Interpol’s Red Notice system for the femicide of his former partner 37 years ago.
The brutal murder of his former wife Fernanda Estruzani Panisa made headlines in the summer of 1989 when she was found stabbed to death in her apartment in southern Brazil.
The victim was 21 years old at the time and suffered 72 stab wounds in what investigators described as an extremely violent murder.

His younger daughter was living with her grandmother at the time, and so did not witness the horrific attack.
At the time, Panisa confessed to the brutal murder, telling the jury that he was jealous of his ex-wife after their relationship ended.
He was sentenced in 1991 but appealed the verdict several times and became embroiled in complex legal disputes.
Legal problems meant the killer was only convicted of his crime in 2008, and sentenced to 20 years behind bars.
But by the time the sentence was pronounced, Panisa had already disappeared.
Authorities say Panisa fled Brazil and built a new life in Paraguay using forged documents.
Living under the name Carlos Viana, the man started a small business and a new family in San Lorenzo.
His new family was completely unaware that they were living with a murderer.
Officials have described the arrest as a victory for justice as perpetrators of decades-old crimes will also be tracked down and sent to jail.
It comes as tourists are being stabbed in holiday hotspots around the world.
In March, a 25-year-old German tourist was attacked outside a hotel in Majorca.
The horrific incident was part of an armed gang robbery.
And in February, a 22-year-old British tourist collapsed in a store in Thailand while terrified shoppers fled the scene.
A holiday man was stabbed during a heated argument with a local shopkeeper.
