The royal family said on Friday that the Duchess of Gloucester visited Blackthorn, a charity that helps people with mental health conditions to recover, grow and develop.
The royal family’s social media accounts shared photos of the 79-year-old’s visit along with a brief statement.
“Earlier this week, the Duchess of Gloucester visited local charity @BlackthornTrust to learn more about the work they do to support people with mental and chronic physical health conditions,” the statement said.
“During the visit, Her Royal Highness heard first-hand how the organization is supporting the wellbeing of the entire community and met service users who are benefiting from the charity’s programmes,” the statement said.
Meanwhile the charity also released a statement on the Duchess’s visit.
“We were delighted to welcome HRH The Duchess of Gloucester to @blackthorntrust yesterday as part of our 40th anniversary celebrations. During the visit Her Royal Highness met service users who are benefiting from Blackthorn’s six-month mental health support programme, as well as the staff and volunteers who deliver this vital work,” the organization said in a statement posted on Instagram.
