According to reports, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson got into a nasty fight while shooting a three-part road trip for Netflix, putting the project on hold.
Now, the doc’s director, Nicola Marsh, has responded to the controversy on Instagram, writing, “And the final year of work has passed.”
This brutal incident happened six months ago.
Malik reportedly made comments about Tomlinson’s late mother – who died of leukemia in 2016 – which turned the emotional reunion into a dramatic denouement.
The source claimed, “The boys were filming on location. Zayn started acting up and mouthing off.”
The incident escalated when Malik punched his former bandmate during a shooting in Wyoming.
Tomlinson was reportedly shocked because not only did he receive a blow that cut his head and left him bruised, but he was also shocked by the Magic hitmaker allegedly using such comments about his mother.
“It turned into an argument, then Zayn made a comment about Louis’ mother, Johanna. Louis was stunned and in shock. As he moved to leave, Zayn attacked him.”
“The thing that hurt Louis the most were Zayn’s comments about his mother,” the insider said, adding that Zayn knew how much Johanna meant to Louis and his family.
Following the incident, efforts were made to bridge the gap between Malik and Tomlinson.
“This upset Lewis greatly; it was clear that there was no way for him to return to filming with Zayn.”
However, there was no success, forcing Netflix to “shut down the series.”
Meanwhile, according to reports, Zayn and Tomlinson are yet to speak to each other, raising concerns among One Direction fans as to whether their friendly relationship can return to normal after this alleged incident.
