Former Prince Andrew was reportedly isolated from other senior royals, but not for a good reason, a royal expert has claimed.
During his meeting with the royal family, royal commentator Robert Hardman claimed the former Duke of York was “not as intelligent or articulate” as the rest of us.
Speaking about her experiences covering royal tours and events, Hardman said that the likes of Prince Philip, King Charles and Princess Anne were edgy and personable.
She also said that the future king, Prince William, and his younger brother, Prince Harry, can easily make a room look chic.
However, as far as Andrew is concerned, the expert said that he often made strange comments during his tenure as trade envoy and sometimes “put his foot in it” during public appearances.
“Philip was charming and sharp – you really have to keep your wits about you. Ditto Charles. The Princess Royal is brilliant – I followed her around and could barely keep up with her,” he told Sunday Telegraph.
The author added, “William and Harry can effortlessly work a room, charming everyone and putting them at ease.”
“But Andrew is not as intelligent or articulate as others. As a business angel, he was always saying offensive things and putting his foot in it.
“He’ll be at a telecommunications conference and suddenly come up with the line, ‘What’s orange?'”
