Chad Gilbert tells how he has been battling stage 4 adrenal cancer for the past five years.
For those unaware, Gilbert was diagnosed in 2021 with aggressive adrenocortical carcinoma, which grows on the outer layer of the adrenal gland.

He said the symptoms were quite different from those he had been experiencing for five years, quipping, “My left leg was starting to get really weak. And so I thought, ‘I’ll still play the CD release show. Just bring me a chair, put me on the stage.'”
At his Nashville performance, Gilbert “played all the songs” as well as the record; However, things took a dark turn at his residence later that night.
“I was on my walker, going up the stairs in the back of my house, and I just ate it and fell,” he shared.
Upon reaching the hospital, his doctors ran some tests and found three tumors in his brain, one of which was the size of a “walnut”. Hit or Miss Croner underwent surgery and radiation to remove his brain tumor.
It is worth mentioning that people suffering from adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) or adrenocortical carcinoma usually live six months to a year after diagnosis, but Chad Gilbert has already lived that period.
