How to reset Google Pixel 10a

Sometimes a phone just needs a clean start. Whether you’re selling your Pixel 10a, trading it in, or dealing with a bug that won’t go away, knowing how to reset a Google Pixel 10a is a handy skill to have. There are two main ways to do this, and which one you use depends on whether your phone is responding normally or not.

Before doing anything, back up your data. Factory reset erases everything: apps, photos, contacts, settings, all of it. You can backup and restore your Pixel using Google’s built-in cloud tools before you begin.

Also worth noting: If you’re selling or giving away your phone, delete your Google account first. Go to Settings > Passwords & Accounts, tap your Google Account, then tap Delete Account. This prevents Factory Reset Protection from locking the device out to the next owner.

Method 1: Via Settings (phone working normally)

This is the easiest method. Use this if your Pixel 10a is responsive and you can navigate the screen normally.

1. Open Settings app
2. Scroll down and tap System
3. Tap Reset option
4. Tap Erase all data (factory reset)
5. Tap Clear all data
6. Enter your PIN when prompted
7. Tap Clear all data again to confirm
8. When the reset is complete, tap Restart

Your phone will reboot, wipe itself, and return to the setup screen. From there, you can sign back in to your Google Account and restore your backup.

Method 2: Via Recovery Mode (phone is frozen or unresponsive)

If your Pixel 10a won’t boot properly or the screen isn’t responding, recovery mode is the way you reset the Google Pixel 10a without needing to access Settings.

step:

1. Turn off the phone completely. Press and hold the Power and Volume Up buttons, then select Power off
2. Once the phone turns off, press and hold the Volume Down and Power buttons together
3. Keep holding them until the Fastboot Mode screen appears (this may take up to 30 seconds)
4. Use the Volume Down button to scroll to Recovery Mode
5. Press the power button to select it
6. When Android Robot appears, press and hold Power, then quickly tap Volume Up once
7. Use the volume buttons to highlight Wipe Data/Factory Reset
8. press power to select it
9. Highlight Factory data reset and press Power to confirm
10. Once reset, select Reboot system now

The phone will restart and return to the out-of-box setup screen.
