Meghan Markle’s estranged father Thomas Markle has made a surprise move by revealing details about his new girlfriend.
The 81-year-old man revealed that he has fallen in love again with 46-year-old Filipina nurse Rio Cañedo.
Thomas said he met Rios while recovering from leg amputation surgery in the Philippines, where he now lives.
Thomas credits Rio for bringing him “peace and happiness” amid his complicated relationship with Meghan, who is 35 years his junior.
Speaking about her new romance, Thomas said, “I never thought I’d find happiness and joy again at this age.”
According to Radar Online, he said, “I felt neglected and sad for so many years, but now I’m enjoying life again. After such a hard time, I feel really lucky that I found someone very special who takes such good care of me.”
