Taylor Frankie Paul is reflecting on the “ugly parts” of therapy after authorities dismissed domestic violence charges against her by her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen.
The Secret Life of Mormon Wives on his Instagram account on Sunday, and responded to the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office’s announcement that in February they dropped charges against him after two Utah police departments said they had launched separate domestic violence investigations into alleged disputes between Paul and his ex-boyfriend.
She began, “Here comes the ugly parts of healing. If you know me you know I will accept my parts, imperfections and flaws. I’m well aware that’s a part of it. We’ll get there.”
Taylor, who also has a two-year-old son, Ever, with Dakota, explained, “This public torture that I endured not only once but now twice, on a much larger scale ultimately cost me my freedom. I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy or even those who publicized it. I cried on my knees in pain and said thank you.”
The mother of three continued, “We have a way forward, but despite this, I am forever freed from a certain living hell from which I cannot find a way out.” “Somehow I’m still here… as we can barely see because I believe God held me and sent help as well as an army, which makes me cry, thank you to all of you who supported even without full context.”
“No doubt God had a hand in it, because after waiting 7 weeks, exactly on the 7th day, I got a call that all charges were dropped. …We are working on eating, moving, resting, and retraining the nervous system. I will share this process, because if the worst part of me is shared, then it would be better if I also share in rebuilding,” Taylor concluded.
In an Instagram story posted after her response post, Taylor revealed that she was “diagnosed with PTSD about two years ago,” which according to her, “is now CPTSD.”
For those unaware, Taylor was arrested following an alleged domestic violence incident in 2023, however the case came under investigation that same year after a video of Taylor throwing metal chairs at Dakota in the presence of a child was leaked. Video was first published TMZ.
