Nancy Sinatra publicly condemned President Donald Trump for sharing footage of her father Frank Sinatra singing my way.
Writing to his ex, first on Twitter, he wrote, “This is a sacrilege.”
The singer, actor and author then responded to a fan who asked if anything could be done about Trump’s post, saying, “Unfortunately, no. Only the publisher can do anything.”
Nancy also reposted some comments from fans who pointed out that Frank, who died in 1998 at age 82, would not have agreed with Trump’s actions in office.
One post read, “@NancySinatra will reaffirm that her father hated Donald Trump,” while another user said, “Trump may love Sinatra, but Sinatra didn’t love Trump.”
Trump started this whole brouhaha on Saturday, when he appeared on Truth Social with a nearly four-minute-long clip of Frank performing his iconic hit live.
The President did not add any context to the post, leading to speculation about his reason for sharing the video.
