Pedro Pascal just admitted he felt like a “deer in headlights” at Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl show because he had no idea he’d be part of the performance.
The Hollywood actor was keen to attend the superstar’s huge event during a football game earlier this year and offered to take on the role as a volunteer and was only too happy to serve drinks if it meant he could be a part of the production.
pedro told wonderful man magazine, “I wanted to participate in some way — literally a volunteer position, like serving coffee when needed — and express my views through the people I work with.”
He added, “When it comes to synced representation with festivals there’s no one better than Benito (Bad Bunny) at the moment, and that fills me with inspiration in addition to being super into his music.”
Pedro didn’t receive any response to his request for help, so he followed up by sending a selfie to prove his identity and he claims the singer’s team got back to him immediately.
“Later I was moaning about not hearing back and I sent someone an email with a selfie with my tongue out, like: ‘This is really me.’ Within 25 minutes, they called me back and they were like, ‘We want you to come on the show,'” he added.
The Mandalorian star also admitted that he thought the invitation meant he would be watching the show from a box and he was surprised to learn that he was going to be a part of the performance.
He told the publication, “I was under the impression I would be in a suite. There was a dress code – ‘wear beige’ – but I thought that would be if there was a photographer.”
“So, we were watching the game in the stands and someone pulls me out of my seat and takes me backstage and then there’s Cardi B and Young Miko and Karol G and Jessica Alba,” he recalled.
“They check the wardrobe and then they say to me, ‘Okay, so the atmosphere is this: you’re dancing’. I started to realize right before they started, and I said, ‘This is the Casita. I’m such a king idiot. Oh my God, I’m going to be in the Casita,’ while I was being led to the arena,” he said.
“So, I guess that’s why I looked like a deer in headlights,” Pedro Pascal finally explained why he felt awkward among the singers.
