I don’t know if it’s post-minimalism fatigue or indeed a collective lust for clothes Do some thingBut this season’s runways felt especially dialed-in. Not for this out loud, but intentionally — every drape, every layer, every slightly “off” proportion felt like it had a point of view. This was a season I had to stop in the middle of working on a trend report and find a way to “shop the look.” Spoiler alert: Most of these shows took place in September and are now available to stream in the city.
The looks from each show were “me,” so as they walked down the runway, my memory took a little snap and now as I’m scrolling through the new arrivals at my favorite luxury retailer, I’m starting to see some familiar items. Below, find the looks I’m most excited to shop first from the September runways.

This was probably the first look I bookmarked during fashion week. It happened in New York in September and for me the show was just a dream. This look plays with structure in a really satisfying way – stitched leather on top, volume through the trousers. The contrast between the fitted jacket and billowy pants creates a silhouette that feels directional but still wearable. This is one of those outfits that does the styling for you.

The cape is already everywhere this year and Balenciaga has a fun twist – leather. This version feels improved. The slightly oversized fit and rich color mesmerize me.

I would book a holiday just to wear this look. This bright red ensemble is all about size. The high neckline and exaggerated, asymmetric hemline create a sculptural effect that feels almost architectural. Yes, it’s bold, but also incredibly clean—no extra styling required.

A show by Versace that will go down in history as the search for a creative director for the brand involved a different twist. Still, it’s a look that will be remembered because it wasn’t long before I noticed other brands like Miu Miu were making similar tanks. The boldest styling trick is to rely on an unusual color combo to complete the outfit.

An oversized red sweater paired with barely-there bottoms shouldn’t work so well — but it does. The slouchy proportions feel intentional rather than lazy, especially styled with sleek accessories. This model is giving off-duty looks, but with enough structure to make it attractive.

Worn as a dress, this structured, double-breasted leather trench coat is pure confidence. I recently tried this outfit idea myself and found that when you feel like you have nothing to wear, just add a slip dress underneath, it’s the easiest to wear. It feels almost cinematic.

You can’t walk into a fashion office without hearing discussion about Matthew Blazey’s Chanel. A tweed jacket and pencil skirt can easily get boring, but Blazy’s update on a Chanel classic feels exceptionally modern. It’s sophisticated, but not predictable—that’s what people love about the collection.

This season from Bottega Veneta was all about looks that felt like I could wear a million each piece. Especially this cashmere sweater that feels good around my waist right now. Call it a new form of office dressing.. the silhouette has been deliberately undone and that’s why it works.

This chocolate brown look is a masterclass in liquid dressing that still feels down-to-earth. If you make this purchase, don’t forget tonal accessories that keep it polished rather than bohemian. This is the kind of outfit you’ll want to wear every weekend this summer.
