Queen Elizabeth II became stronger as a monarch in the later years of her life.
Her Majesty, who died in 2022, proved herself to be resilient and determined as she reached her 90s.
On what will be the late monarch’s birth anniversary, royal expert Robert Hardman reveals what made the Queen different from the rest of the world.
He tells Marie Claire: “You see family dramas coming out in the ’90s and she thinks a little bit, ‘Okay, let’s park it and hope for the best and see what happens.'”
“Unless, you know, Harry and Meghan are charging over the airwaves, I mean, she’s straight back in within a few hours.”
He adds: “I think he realized gradually in life that a problem that is avoided is, in a way, a problem that is magnified.”
Hardman says that instead of being “pushed aside”, Queen Elizabeth became stronger.
“The older she got, the stronger she became, in a sense,” he explains. “And in her later years she was actually very straightforward in her decision-making.”
