Jessica Vosk finally reveals how she feels when the audience sobs while playing her most intense role on Broadway beaches.
For those unaware, the show is based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Iris Rainer Dart, which was originally published in 1985 and later adapted into a film released in 1988.
Beaches is “about a deep 30-year friendship between two very different women. And over the years, their bond survives years of rivalry, failed marriages and, ultimately, devastating loss.”
spoke to vosk People magazine about her Broadway experience, specifically playing an emotional character, CeCe Bloom, with Kelly Barrett’s Bertie White.
He told the outlet that it feels “awesome” when the audience gets emotional during his performance.
Vosk said, “In those last 20 minutes of the show, the audience was kind of in a frenzy, and I can feel it as the person sitting on the stage ending the show. It’s like hearing sobs from the audience, but it’s human and it’s really necessary.”
The 42-year-old actress and singer further explained that “Every show is a great moment of gratitude for me, knowing that the audience is feeling what they are feeling.”
