Prince Harry reportedly feels the royal family still needs him as he and Meghan Markle wrap up their non-royal tour of Australia.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently visited Australia for a series of public appearances in what some critics dubbed a “fake royal tour.”
According to a source, Harry believes the positive response from the public in the country has reinforced his view that he and Meghan can play an important role in representing the monarchy.
The insider claimed the trip has boosted Harry’s confidence in resuming his royal role if allowed, especially now that the monarchy’s image has been tarnished by the Andrew and Sarah Ferguson scandal.
The insider said, “Harry and Meghan are very happy with how the trip went. It has given them a lot of confidence and strengthened their belief that the situation is finally turning in their favor.”
He added, “He knew there would be some sarcasm from critics, but in his eyes, the overall reception he received from the general public – and the causes he supported – was incredible.
“It confirms Harry’s belief that they are creating a ground-breaking new blueprint that will stand him in good stead moving forward – and he hopes it will impress the royals.”
The insider told heat magazine That “the way he sees it, the royals need him and Meghan to fly the flag for the monarchy, especially with all the negativity they’ve endured from the Andrew scandal.”
“He believes the time has come to embrace this new chapter together and he is ready to do so by sitting down with his father, hopefully in a few months when he next returns to the UK.”
