King Charles and Queen Camilla joined members of the royal family at a reception at Buckingham Palace to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Queen Elizabeth II.
The royal family’s social media accounts shared a video of the reception along with a brief statement, saying, “Guests included representatives of the late Queen’s former charities and patronages, as well as some very special centenarians, who celebrate their 100th birthday today.”
“It was a pleasure to come together and share memories of the past 100 years!” The statement said.
Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Edward, Duchess Sophie, Princess Anne, the Duke of Kent, the late Queen’s first cousin and the oldest living member of the British royal family, were also present at the reception.
The Duke of Kent, 90, is rarely seen in public when he is not performing royal duties.
The Royal Family celebrated the 100th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s birth through a series of commemorative events, including a visit by King Charles III and Queen Camilla to the Royal Collection Trust exhibition, a personal message broadcast by the King on the centenary, events at the British Museum and The Regent’s Park, and a reception at Buckingham Palace celebrating the late Queen’s life, service and enduring legacy.
