US President Donald Trump tried to access America’s nuclear codes but was blocked by one of his military generals, it has been claimed.
Retired CIA analyst Larry Johnson revealed on the popular YouTube program Judging Freedom that during an emergency meeting on Saturday, Mr Trump attempted to access the nuclear codes, The Mirror US Informed.
According to the newspaper, the American President was stopped by General Dan Kane. “A report is coming from that meeting The White House is what Trump wanted…use the nuclear codes, and General Dan Cain stood up and said ‘no’. To say so, he used his prerogative as army chief. Obviously this was a big shock. There are some very strange things going on in DC.”
Mirror US also wrote that the allegations have not been confirmed and it is unclear what purpose the nuclear codes would serve if used. However, this follows reports donald trump Was kept out of the Situation Room by military advisors during a critical Iran rescue operation.
After a US airliner was destroyed by Iranian forces earlier this month, Trump reportedly spent hours yelling at staff in the West Wing, haunted by memories of the 1979 Iranian hostage crisis.
The United States has been engaged in conflict with Iran since February 28, when the United States–Israel launched joint airstrikes on several strategic Iranian targets. Iran retaliated by attacking multiple locations across the Middle East, causing chaos in the region and closing the vital Strait of Hormuz shipping lane.
Washington and Tehran agreed to a two-week ceasefire on the evening of April 7, requiring the warring countries to reach an agreement by Tuesday, April 21. However, the President gave negotiators an additional day to secure an agreement, as Iranian officials have not yet formally committed to sending a delegation to Islamabad.
