Mexican president says he was not aware of any joint operation with US officials after two Americans died in a car crash in Chihuahua

The Mexican president says he was not aware of any joint operation with US authorities after two Americans were killed in a car crash in Chihuahua.

After two US officials were killed in a crash in Chihuahua, Mexico’s largest state, President Claudia Sheinbaum said she did not know what operation they were involved in because they were not informed. According to reports, it was a covert operation to destroy a secret drug lab in northern Chihuahua and Mexican officials were also part of it. But neither the US government identified the two people killed in the crash, nor did the Mexican government provide any details. Instead, Sheinbaum denied knowledge of any joint operation.“This was not an operation that the security cabinet was aware of,” Sheinbaum told reporters. “We were not informed; it was a decision of the Chihuahua government.”Sheinbaum said his government would investigate the incident to ensure no laws were broken following Sunday’s deaths, adding that state governments must obtain authorization from Mexico’s federal government to cooperate with the U.S. and other foreign entities “as established by the Constitution.”

murder of cia officers Chihuahua in accident?

Chihuahua Attorney General César Jauregui said four officers died when their car skidded and fell into a ditch. They were driving at midnight through the rugged mountainous terrain linking Chihuahua to Sinaloa as they returned from an operation to destroy the laboratories of criminal groups. In a news release, the state Attorney General’s Office identified two of the crash victims as Pedro Román Oseguera Cervantes, first commander of the state investigative agency, and Officer Manuel Genaro Méndez Montes. But the names of American officials have not been disclosed. The New York Times said he was a member of the CIA.US Ambassador Ronald Johnson confirmed the deaths of the two US officials and posted a message of condolence on social media. “We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of two U.S. Embassy personnel, the Director of Chihuahua’s State Investigation Agency (AEI), and an AEI official in this accident. We honor their dedication and tireless efforts to respond to one of the greatest challenges of our time. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his loved ones.”He said, “This tragedy is a sobering reminder of the risks facing Mexican and U.S. officers who are dedicated to protecting our communities. It strengthens our resolve to continue their mission and our shared commitment to security and justice to protect our people.”But as controversy began over whether U.S. officials were conducting an operation on Mexican soil, local officials said there were no U.S. agents in the operation and that U.S. officials joined the group after the operation and were several hours away from where the operation took place.
