If you’re unaware of the problem, zip file downloads of Google Photos content are becoming corrupted due to an issue with the Google One storage manager. In particular, when using the tool on a PC, archives larger than 4 GB will be written incorrectly. As a result, users were unable to open these downloaded zip files.
But in a new post photo help page (via piunikaweb), the tech giant says, “Our engineering teams have identified the cause and fixed this bug.” The company says any new downloads from Google Photos using the storage manager on your computer should now work regardless of file size. Google also included an apology for the inconvenience: “We’re very sorry for the inconvenience and concern this has caused.”
As mentioned earlier, if you are affected by this bug you have two options. The first option is the most straightforward, which is to download your content again. If you don’t want to go through the download process again, you can use Google new repair equipment To fix corrupted file. However, this repair tool will only be available until June 1, 2027.
