King Charles’ US visit is a ‘defining moment’ for the monarch to assert his leadership and cement his legacy, a royal expert has claimed.
talking to fox news digitalRoyal expert Hilary Fordwich said: “Given the current serious status of the ‘special relationship’, this is the highest risk trip possible.”
King Charles and Queen Camilla are due to visit the United States next week.
Fordwich said, “All being well, the King could be seen as ameliorating the current crisis by enhancing continuity in history. It is important that he connects culturally, avoiding any conflict, while reinforcing shared purpose and history.”
She went on to say that the monarch has an opportunity to address existing tensions, to become a ‘unifying figure’, to make him more relevant, beyond even being a static symbol, but becoming mission-critical.
The royal expert believes King Charles could single-handedly get the transatlantic bond back on track.
The royal expert further warned that King Charles is under immense pressure over his legacy, saying, “Should the visit not be deemed a success, he would not only undermine the way we are moving forward in history, but also the tenor of the special relationship that is at stake.”
The latest claims come hours after another royal expert, Rob Shuter, said that King Charles’ eldest son Prince William is reportedly quietly stepping into power in a major strategic move amid King Charles’s US visit.
The insider reveals the Prince of Wales is using the window to “convene key figures privately”, adding, “These are not routine briefings – these are strategic, future-facing conversations with real importance. And none of this is designed for public consumption.”
