Buckingham Palace has reportedly reacted angrily after Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle referenced her children’s royal titles in new products released under her As Ever lifestyle brand.
Prince Harry’s wife launched two scented candles worth £47 as part of a Mother’s Day collection, with the product names reflecting the birth dates of their children, Prince Archie of Sussex and Princess Lilibet of Sussex.
According to media reports, a palace source described the marketing move as an “abusive use of their titles”.
The products mark the first time the brand has directly referenced Meghan and Harry’s children.
A source close to Markle said the approach was “tasteful” and was supported by her husband, Prince Harry.
The collection was promoted through impressive gift boxes containing candles, chocolates and handwritten notes describing personal family memories.
