In the 32nd match of IPL 2026 at Ekana Stadium, Rajasthan Royals defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 40 runs. The win helped RR snap its two-match losing streak thanks to strong efforts from Ravindra Jadeja and Jofra Archer.
Lucknow won the toss and decided to bowl first and their decision seemed right from the beginning. Mohammed Shami struck quickly and put RR under pressure by removing Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel.
After Vaibhav Suryavanshi was dismissed for 8 runs, RR slipped to 32 for 3 inside four overs. The innings needed stability, and Ravindra Jadeja stepped up at the right time.
Jadeja remained unbeaten on 43 runs in 29 balls and managed the innings. Donovan Ferreira scored 20, while Shubham Dubey scored 19 not out to take RR to 159 for 6.
Lucknow bowlers did well to control the scoring. Mohammed Shami, Prince Yadav and Mohsin Khan took two wickets each and prevented RR from scoring big.

While chasing 160 runs, Lucknow team was never able to find the rhythm in batting. Mitchell Marsh was the only bright spot, scoring 55 off 41 balls while wickets kept falling at the other end.
The rest of the batting order failed to support them and the team was out for 119 runs in 18 overs. This collapse once again highlighted his batting problems this season.
Jofra Archer led the bowling attack with pace and accuracy and took 3 for 20. He clean bowled the lower order and won the match by taking the last wicket.
Brijesh Sharma also made an impact by taking two wickets in the 17th over. He ended the hopes of a comeback by dismissing Mukul Chaudhary and Mohammed Shami early.
Despite the defeat there was a record moment. Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the youngest player to reach 500 IPL runs and also the fastest player in terms of balls faced.
Lucknow’s struggles continued at home as they suffered yet another defeat at the Ekana Stadium. This is their third consecutive defeat at home this season.
The head-to-head record has also moved further in favor of Rajasthan, now standing at 5-2.
“It’s hard to explain. Our batting is letting us down. We need to find answers. The bowlers did well, but the batting needs to improve,” the LSG captain said after the match.
