The royal family paid emotional tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth on Tuesday on her 100th birthday, with King Charles saying his “dear mother” will “always be in our hearts and prayers”.
Britain’s longest-reigning and longest-lived Queen Elizabeth was born on April 21, 1926, and spent 70 years on the throne before her death in September 2022 at the age of 96.
Later, the palace shared a family photo on social media, saying, “The King and Queen have joined members of the Royal Family to remember the life of Queen Elizabeth II.”
The photo includes King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, Kate Middleton, Princess Anne, Prince Edward, Duchess Sophie, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, The Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra.
Commenting on the photo, royal expert Cameron Walker has raised a big question.
Cameron reshared the post, saying, “As charming as this image is, it reflects a challenge facing The King and The Prince of Wales: the lack of young working royals.”
He added, “Can they engage with the younger generation, represent the Commonwealth and maintain a full program of engagement for decades to come?”
Furthermore, the royal expert added, “Or does Prince William’s planned “change” signal a fundamentally different era for the monarchy?”
