Fans will have to wait longer for the third season of the popular show matlockBecause it won’t be released until 2027.
CBS legal drama series creator Jennie Snyder Urman announces delay in a new interview TV Insider.
“I asked the network for it. We had a conversation. I just feel like we had a lot of things to think about because we really landed the plane on this and we really thought it was important because we didn’t want to keep dragging out the same story and have the characters go to some real place emotionally,” she said.
Jenny, who is also the show’s executive producer, further shared, “So we actually, when we landed this two-hour finale and actually paid off a lot of the stuff, what came with it was that I would need time to really build the architecture so that we would have it for the next season. I’m excited about it, but I’m also grateful because we needed a little bit of time.”
Jenny then assured fans that the wait will be worth it.
She shared, “Sad for the audience, but actually really good for me and the writers because I want us to plot this new mystery and make sure it’s perfect.”
We had a lot of pieces, so we really had to make this new piece out of it. I feel lucky that the network is giving us the time to get it right because I don’t want the quality to drop,” Jenny said.
