The long-running rift between King Charles and Prince Harry may finally be ending with the intervention of Donald Trump.
Insiders have revealed that discussions are underway about framing a potential meeting as a “moment of peace”, in which Trump would play a central role in bringing the different royals together.
This comes after Harry stepped back from royal duties and relocated to California with his wife Meghan Markle in 2020, following which tensions have continued within the royal family.
“There’s actually talk of presenting this as a ‘moment of peace,'” the source told Radar Online. Trump wants to be seen as someone who brings everyone together – whether it works or not.”
Sources suggest that although a full reunion may be unlikely, even starting talks would result in a significant change in the family dynamics. “Trump is the ultimate showman,” the tipster told the outlet.
He added, “If there’s a chance to turn diplomacy into must-see TV, he’ll take it every time… Sometimes just putting an idea forward is the step to take. And no one can troll the room – or the world – better than Trump.”
It’s worth mentioning that the situation is complicated given past comments between Donald Trump and Prince Harry, as well as his criticisms directed at Meghan Markle.
During his appearance on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the Duke of Sussex poked fun at Trump, saying, “I heard you elected a king.”
Meanwhile at a meeting of the British American Business Council, Harry said: “Next year, I know we look forward to welcoming more Britons from across the pond.”
“Provided they behave and if they make it through customs and past ICE,” he said.
On the other hand, Trump also taunted the Sussexes, particularly when asked if he would revoke Harry’s visa, with Trump saying, “I don’t want to do that. I would leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible.”
