CNN was rudely interrupted by reporter Erin Burnett, who had some embarrassing breaking news to deliver about US President Donald Trump amid the US-Iran conflict. During the “disgraceful” announcement, an AI clip of Trump being mocked and dancing on a giant hamburger was shown to the audience. These clips have been shared on social media in China ahead of the President’s meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
Will Ripley, reporting from Taipei, said: “China’s censors aren’t stopping AI videos mocking the president donald trump And Iran war. On Chinese social media, the message is clear, ‘The biggest winner by far is neither the US nor Iran – it’s China.’
One said, “Trump is not welcome”, while another said, “No need to come, without credibility, what are you coming for?”
Ripley said: “Criticism of Trump seems to be spreading freely throughout China.” He continued to say that China is Iran’s largest oil customer, and Beijing claims to cut demand for oil by more than a million barrels per day.
The CNN star said: “Beijing is not waging this war, but many on China’s social media are declaring victory. While the US is focusing on the war, China is focusing on energy, currency, supply chains and diplomacy.
“China is really trying to position itself to win, not by directly competing with the United States, but by presenting itself as a more stable alternative.”
Viewers immediately commented on the report on X, with one writing: “No one can make fun of Donald Trump more than Donald Trump.”
Another said: “China is really a serious country. And a country that makes sense.” A third said: “This is Trump’s personal nightmare – a disgrace.”
