The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has launched a multi-agency investigation to unravel the “appalling pattern” of deaths and disappearances of at least a dozen American scientists, Fox News Digital reports.
The sudden disappearances and deaths of notable scientists belonging to sensitive fields including aerospace engineering, defense research and nuclear science have raised concerns among the scientific community and netizens, raising concerns whether these incidents are just a coincidence or part of a nefarious campaign.
New details regarding the death of NASA nuclear engineer, Joshua LeBlanc, have led the FBI to delve deeper into this volatile case.
The 29-year-old man, who worked on the Space Nuclear Propulsion (SNP) project considered vital for future Mars missions, was reported missing on July 22, 2025. Later, he was found dead in a burned-out Tesla after a fatal crash in a rural Alabama town last year.
The vehicle crashed into a guardrail and several trees before bursting into flames. However, according to family members, the death was not accidental but pre-planned.
In a statement to Fox News Digital, the FBI confirmed that the agency is working with other federal authorities in the investigation of the 11 missing and deceased scientists.
“The FBI is leading the effort to find connections to the missing and deceased scientists. We are working with the Department of Energy, the War Department, and our state and local law enforcement partners to find answers,” the agency said.
Even President Donald Trump expressed concern over the matter, telling reporters, “I hope it’s random, but we’ll know in the next week and a half. I just left a meeting on this topic.”
Since 2022, about 12 people involved in space and nuclear research have either gone suspiciously missing or died under mysterious circumstances.
The following five individuals were reported missing under circumstances that law enforcement and families described as suspicious: Monica Reza (60), Melissa Casias (53), Anthony Chavez (79), Steven Garcia (48), and Major General William Neil McCasland (68).
During the same period, 6 people were confirmed dead under mysterious circumstances.
The recent development comes after the tragic death on April 20, 2026 of David Wilcock, an American UFO expert and ancient alien star.
