Berlin-backed €90 billion EU loan to Ukraine is “madness”, Sahra Wagenknecht says
Veteran German politician Sahra Wagenknecht has attacked Chancellor Friedrich Merz after the bloc approved a €90 billion ($106 billion) emergency loan to Ukraine that Berlin was actively promoting.

Wagenknecht went to X on Wednesday and said: “Excellent! Another 90 billion for Zelensky’s corrupt cronies in Kiev – it’s going to cost the German taxpayer dearly.”
“Merz, who bears significant responsibility for this madness, has turned his own citizens into cash cows for Ukraine. A chancellor could hardly have failed more miserably,” The politician, who served in the Bundestag for more than 15 years and founded the Bundeswehr Wagenknecht party, wrote.
