Police have arrested a sex offender who allegedly sexually assaulted several women in the San Fernando Valley in a span of a few hours last weekend.
Jail records show 29-year-old Damien Denzel Robinson was taken into custody by the Los Angeles Police Department in Van Nuys on Thursday morning.
Robinson, who police say has previous convictions for indecent exposure and lewd conduct, attacked several women in the area on Sunday. According to an LAPD media release, it started with an elderly woman just after 9 a.m. inside a business in Granada Hills, where he “pulled down her pants, grabbed her and sexually assaulted her.”
About 45 minutes later and a half-mile away, Robinson attacked a woman near Forbes Avenue and Callahan Street in Northridge, where he tried to pull down her pants before she restrained him and he ran away, police said.
Police say a few minutes later, Robinson approached a woman from behind near Lassen Street and Encino Avenue, about a mile and a half away, and sexually assaulted her while recording it on his cell phone before running away.
According to police, three more attacks that day were linked to Robinson.
At 11:15 a.m., police say a female victim was grabbed from behind and attacked inside a grocery store at Miles near Vanowen Street and Corbin Avenue in Winnetka.
Just over an hour later, authorities say Robison pulled down a female victim’s pants and underwear inside a market near Mason Avenue and Sherman Ave., recorded it on his cell phone and then ran away.
The sixth attack occurred at 3:20 p.m. inside a restroom three miles away inside a retail store near Corbin Avenue and Nordhoff Street, where he allegedly used his cell phone to record a woman inside the bathroom stall.
The attack was captured on security cameras and police identified Robinson as the attacker from the footage. KTLA obtained the footage From a customer inside a store moments after an incident and shows shoppers seeking security as the suspect leaves the store.
