Mumbai Indians (MI) owner Akash Ambani showed obvious disappointment during the IPL match and left the Wankhede Stadium before the end of the game during IPL 2026. After witnessing a complete collapse of his team’s batting against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), he was even seen asking nearby fans to leave the place.
Chennai Super Kings defeated Mumbai Indians by 103 runs at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday, April 23. After being asked to bat first, Chennai scored 207 runs in the first innings. They then bowled out Mumbai Indians for just 104 runs in 19 overs and slipped to fifth place, while Mumbai slipped to eighth in the table.
Mumbai Indians owner Akash Ambani left the stadium in the middle of the match.
Akash Ambani left the stadium before the end of the match as his team’s hopes soon faded during the chase. The batting order was struggling badly against Chennai Super Kings, hence his early dismissal was clearly showing disappointment in the Mumbai camp.
Mumbai were never able to gain control of the target and fell far behind and ultimately suffered a heavy defeat in front of their home crowd.
Akash Ambani is usually seen supporting the team from the stands, but this was a rare, disappointing moment. The combination of the one-sided defeat and his early departure made the contest difficult for Mumbai Indians.
