TL;DR
- We have got our hands on the OnePlus Pad 4, which will be launched next week.
- The Pad 4 comes with Snapdragon 8 Elite with 12GB RAM.
- OnePlus is also launching better accessories, including an improved Stylo Pro Pencil and a new keyboard folio.
Ahead of the launch of the company’s next flagship slate, the OnePlus Pad 4, I went hands-on with it. Although we’re obligated not to share much about our verdict on the Pad 4 just yet, I can share my insights from my limited time so far.
The OnePlus Pad 4 carries the same sleek look as its predecessor, with a thickness of just 5.94 mm despite the larger 13.2″-inch display. OnePlus has also shed a few grams and the Pad 4 now weighs 672 grams. While the 13-inch iPad Pro is a bit thinner and significantly lighter, you can expect the OnePlus Pad 4 to not bend as easily as before.

Like last year, there’s a unibody metal shell, but with new colors. OnePlus sent me Dune Glow, which is a bronze shade. Additionally, there will also be a green variant, called Sage Mist.

The location of the cameras and the OnePlus logo remain unchanged, but the pogo pin touch point has been moved higher up on the back. That’s because OnePlus is switching to a cantilever design (similar to Apple’s Keyboard Pro) for the Keyboard Folio. Unfortunately, I don’t have it yet, but I can show you OnePlus’ new Stylo Pro Pencil.
As before, the Stylo Pro attaches magnetically to the side of the Pad 4 and charges wirelessly. It comes with better pressure sensitivity up to 16,000 points and a new rubberized tip for better friction while writing. For those who prefer otherwise, OnePlus also includes a traditional tip inside the box. However, both these accessories will be sold separately.
In terms of specs, the OnePlus Pad 4 has a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, up to 12GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of storage. OnePlus says the surface area of the cooling solution is 17% larger than that of the Pad 3.
The biggest feature of the OnePlus Pad 4 is its 13,380mAh battery, which is about 10% larger than the Pad 3. With this, OnePlus claims multi-day standby, and I look forward to testing it in the coming days.
The Pad 4 still uses the same 13.2″ LCD display with 3K resolution and support for Dolby Vision. For audio, there are a total of eight drivers (four tweeters and four small sub-woofers).
OnePlus Pad 4 will launch on April 30 at 12pm IST. Although its launch in India has been confirmed, we have no information yet about its availability in other regions.
