A man in Britain has been jailed for life after being found guilty of infecting several young men and teenage boys with HIV in what a court has described as a deliberate and harmful pattern of abuse.Adam Hall, 43, was sentenced to life in prison at a Newcastle court, with a minimum term of 23 years. He was convicted of infecting seven victims between 2016 and 2023, including two boys aged 15 and 17, the BBC reports.The court heard he met many of his victims online or in bars and targeted those he considered vulnerable. Prosecutors said he deliberately avoided taking medications that would have reduced the risk of transmitting HIV and failed to inform his partners about his condition.According to the court, Hall was warned several times by health professionals about the dangers of his behavior. Despite this, he continued to have unprotected sex and misled his partners about his health status.Several victims told the court how the experience permanently changed their lives. One said he felt “violated” and now lives with daily memories of what happened. Another described how his future was “irreversibly changed” after trusting Hall.The judge said all the victims had suffered long-term harm, physically and emotionally, and criticized Hall for showing no concern for their well-being. He described the criminal as dangerous and said his actions had taken away the future of his victims.HIV is a lifelong condition that requires continued medical treatment. The court said that the victims will now have to manage the disease for the rest of their lives.Area police said that more people have come forward since the conviction and further investigation is underway. Officials have urged anyone who may be affected to contact them.Hall denied knowingly infecting the victims, but the court rejected his claims. He will now serve a life sentence and it will be at least two decades before his release can be considered.
