Ukraine’s Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko has come out in support of Prince Harry after his comments in Kiev have angered US President Donald Trump.
In a surprise visit to Kiev on Thursday, Harry urged the United States to play a decisive role in ending Russian aggression and called on Russian leader Vladimir Putin to “stop this war.”
It is Harry’s third visit to the war-torn country – which has been under attack from Moscow’s military for more than four years – to support wounded veterans as part of his Invictus Games Foundation.
Commenting on Harry’s comments, Donald Trump claimed that he “speaks for the UK more than Prince Harry.”
“I know one thing, Prince Harry is not speaking for the UK, that’s for sure, I think I speak for the UK more than Prince Harry, but I appreciate his advice,” Trump said.
Meanwhile, Iulia shared a photo with Prince Harry on her former Twitter handle named X along with sweet comments.
“It is always a pleasure to welcome Prince Harry to Kiev,” he said.
The Prime Minister added, “I am deeply impressed by the warmth with which Prince Harry speaks about our people – whom he meets here in Ukraine and around the world through the Invictus Games.”
“Thank you, Your Excellency – for your continued support of Ukraine, our service members and our veterans. It means a lot to us to have such a true friend of Ukraine,” she concluded.
